A Dublin’s picture

The “bridge”, in the picture below, is in the city centre of Dublin. I took this picture last July.
Now, in Italy, there is a new project for the bridge that will connect Calabria and Sicilia, a multimillion project! I haven’t my opinion about this bridge again, but I remember a Dublin “bridge”!

I found some interesting link on this messina bridge online. The first link is the official page of the project: http://www.strettodimessina.it/index_i.html.
Here everything seems to be interesting, well done and clean. However here’s another link from a group of citizen in Sicilia that don’t share the same hentousiasm: http://www.ilpontesullostretto.it/
Personally I think that this bridge story is just all the rest of this government’s politics: “smoke in the eyes…”. I think Sicily and Calabria have bigger and more important issues that solving the connection. Besides, as one of my Sicilian friend was highlighting, if you have this nice bridge but you are not able to reach it, that what is the point (I sweetened the definitions)? He was referring to the lack on a decent highway to connect Naples and Reggio Calabria and the lack of an airport in Basilicata …
