Diachronic visualization of interaction with plants

I sketched a possible diachronic visualization of the interaction with a plant for the Biosphera interface. The idea behind is to offer the possibility to reflect on the influence of underexposure or overexposure to a certain variable over time.

Diachronic Visualization

Exploring the environment to discover the underlying model

I sketched a couple of factors that can play a role to understanding the plant world. Some of the parameters are inputs in the system, like sunlight. Others are output from the system like oxygen. Not all the parameters are currently controlled by the biosphera interface (i.e., nitrax).

SimScope

SimScope is a problem-solving thinking kit that helps you understand the world through dynamic model building. The computer software comes with a variety of data-rich 3D world templates, which students can observe, modify and experiment with. Simple model-building tools let you create your own worlds with progressive degrees of complexity. SimScope includes a framework for posing a variety of science questions, testing and comparing different answers, and sharing the results with others. SimScope’s flexible environment supports a range of activities, from school reports to multiplayer world-building games.
